Discover the artistry of stoneware mug crafting in our hands-on pottery class! Unleash your creativity as you learn to mold, shape, and glaze your unique mug. Join us for a journey of craftsmanship, where you'll experience the joy of creating functional, beautiful pieces. You'll elevate your coffee or tea routine with a personalized stoneware mug crafted by your own hands.

How it works:

This is a step by step instructed Clay Encounter that is intended for ages 13 and up. This price includes the Glaze Encounter which will occur at a later date after the bisque firing process is complete.  During the Clay Encounter you will learn to build a large handled mug.  You will choose from a textured or smooth design and learn to create unique curves or attach raised designs.  We anticipate this to take approximately 2 hours.

You will be contacted once the bisque firing process is complete and you will be provided a 2 week schedule to return for the Glaze Encounter.  In this step, you will learn to glaze your mug with a microwave and dishwasher safe glaze.  Your piece will then be glaze fired and you'll receive a one week schedule for pick up.

Things to note:

-No prior experience is required.

-Participants ages 13-16 must be accompanied by a participating adult.

-Workshop will be held at the WPG DIY Studio located at 315 N Clinton Ave, Saint Johns, MI 48879 unless otherwise stated.

-Just as each artist is unique, your finished pottery will be as well.

-You may bring food and beverages.

-Dress to get messy!  Aprons are available.

-If you are unable to participate in a Glaze Encounter during the two week schedule that is provided, you may pick up your project and return within 90 days at no additional cost.  If you return after the 90 day window, there will be a $10 firing fee applied.
