Get your hands dirty with this desert themed Clay Encounter. You will sculpt your own prickly masterpiece in this step by step instructed class. You'll be amazed how your slab of clay will bloom and come to life by the end of the event!
*Cacti pieces will be glazed during the same event
*This class is intended for ages 8 and above.
What's Included?:
-1 Pound of Stoneware Clay
-Step by step instruction from studio expert.
-Glazes necessary to complete project.
-Terracotta pot for "planting".
-Foam for securing cacti pieces.
-Stones to cover foam.
-Sealant to secure stones in pot.
How it works:
This is a step by step instructed Clay Encounter that is intended for ages 8 and up. This price includes the Glaze Encounter which will occur the same evening. During the Clay Encounter you will learn to sculpt a succulent or cacti utilizing 1 pound of raw stoneware clay. You will choose your own textures and attachments making each plant unique to you! We anticipate this to take approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.
You will be contacted once the firing process is complete and you will be provided a schedule for pick up. There is some at-home-assembly required. Step by step instructions and all materials to complete your cacti will be provided.
Things to note:
-No prior experience is required.
-Participants ages 8-16 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
-Workshop will be held at the WPG DIY Studio located at 318 N Clinton Ave, Saint Johns, MI 48879 unless otherwise stated.
-Just as each artist is unique, your finished pottery will be as well.
-You may bring food and beverages.
-Dress to get messy! Aprons are available.
